At BBIS, we want children to love learning, develop their unique identity and enjoy the magic of childhood. We follow the Uk gold standard Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum, which includes seven areas of learning: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design.
At BBIS, our philosophy in EYFS is to make every day a journey of discovery that sparks every child’s imagination and understanding in an engaging environment filled with extraordinary, first-hand experiences. We believe that children demonstrate their thinking skills when engrossed in their self-chosen play, pursuing their interests and trying out ideas. The children have free-flow access within the indoor and outdoor space with carefully selected areas and high-quality resources to support their learning. As teachers, we guide the children’s learning through playful interactions to create confident, happy students who challenge themselves further. Every day includes the teaching of Phonics, storytelling, mark-making and maths skills. Our focus is on developing the characteristics of effective Learning, building children’s confidence and independence. There are numerous opportunities for playing and exploring, creative and critical thinking as well as active learning, which all build resilience.
