Digital Technology

Digital Learning in BBIS aims to provide 21st-century skills to our students so they will be ready for jobs we can’t possibly predict yet.

It encompasses Computer Science, Digital Literacy, Digital Citizenship, and Robotics, including the ethical and innovative use of AI, all in connection with the Units of Inquiry in PYP and integrated into all subjects in MYP and DP. Students progress through a variety of projects in each area across every grade level, ultimately transitioning from PYP through MYP to DP as competent, creative, and ethical technology users.

During their primary studies, students have the chance to experiment with various educational technologies. All year groups use a set of 1-to-1 iPads or Chromebooks in their classrooms for studying. From PYP5 and up, BBIS implements the BYOD policy so students learn to take responsibility for using digital tools of their own. They have the chance to work with Micro:bits, 3D printers, imagiCharms, and—starting from the 2025–26 academic year—PYP will have Robotics in their timetable using VEX Robotics (123, Go, and IQ families). Every primary classroom is equipped with touch-screen SMART Panels, and every secondary classroom with TVs to enhance teaching and learning.

By the end of their primary studies, students have learned algorithmic thinking, sequencing, and basic digital media creation.
