Mission, Vision, Values

Our Mission Statement

We enable pupils to achieve more than they think they can, in a small caring school. We nurture creative and responsible global citizens, with mindsets for success.

Our Vision

is to provide children and young people with an excellent, internationally British education. This rests on our student-centred, family-oriented environment where every young person is known as an individual. All of our students are expected to make a positive contribution to their learning, friendships and to the wider community. We work hard, therefore, to make sure that our students grow and develop into the best people they can be so that when they graduate or leave to move onwards in their education, they can make the world a better place.

Our Values

describe the four most important principles which provide both the bedrock upon which we build our school community and the overarching structure under which we operate. As students, adults and a community we are, therefore:

BBIS Profile of a Graduate

BBIS graduates are shaped through an international educational philosophy that balances academic, personal, and social development. Grounded in the IB Learner Profile and the school’s values of Caring, Learning, Respectful, Safe, and Resilient, they are equipped to engage with diverse perspectives, act with integrity, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Prepared for higher education and beyond, they are ready to navigate complexity and take on the challenges of an interconnected world.

Reflective Thinkers

BBIS graduates thoughtfully evaluate their learning, actions, and perspectives. They analyze complex ideas, consider multiple viewpoints, and use reflection to guide personal and academic growth. They approach challenges with curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Resilient & Adaptable Individuals

BBIS graduates navigate change with confidence and perseverance. They embrace uncertainty as an opportunity for learning, respond constructively to setbacks, and adapt their strategies to overcome obstacles. They maintain a growth mindset while working toward long-term goals.

Effective Communicators & Critical Thinkers

BBIS graduates express ideas clearly, creatively, and confidently across diverse contexts. They listen actively, engage thoughtfully with others, and use evidence-based reasoning to solve problems. They communicate with purpose—whether collaborating in teams, presenting arguments, or sharing insights with wider audiences.

Global Citizens

BBIS graduates demonstrate empathy, cultural understanding, and a sense of responsibility toward the world around them. They value diversity, act with integrity, and contribute positively to their communities. They recognize their role in addressing global challenges and strive to make meaningful, ethical impacts.

Community-Minded Leaders

BBIS graduates lead with responsibility, compassion, and generosity. They actively serve their communities, identify opportunities for meaningful change, and promote inclusive, ethical, and sustainable initiatives.

BBIS graduates emerge as individuals who are adaptable, thoughtful, and responsible, prepared to navigate complexity with integrity, contribute meaningfully to society, and engage as active members of a connected world.
