Every time my students are brave enough to change their minds about a topic we debate during lesson time. To me, it demonstrates an ability to actively listen, think critically through the gaps in their own opinions, and act from a place of humility.
SOMETHING INTERESTING ABOUT ME
Between the ages of 17 and 23, I worked as a guide in the Indian Himalayas during my summer vacations. My father is a mountaineer native to the region and so I tagged along with him until I was ready to lead my own groups. The experience took me to some of the most remote villages in the world, some as high as 5000 metres! Volunteering at an alternative school in one such village led me to seriously consider education as the most effective pathway to long-term and sustainable development.
